Lake Country Human Resource Association Board Meeting Minutes
July 8, 2004, 8:30 a.m.

Introduction of new members was done. Jeff Kennedy with Spherion will be taking over for Laurie Askelson who is moving on to new frontiers.

May minutes were reviewed and accepted.

Just a reminder to all that all discussions held at the meetings are confidential.

Carline Simon reviewed the State Leadership Conference. It was attended by Caroline, Natasha and Lori Bakken. They attended several meetings while there, a wide range of HR issues were covered. They felt it was very beneficial and came away with good ideas.

Mike Haapala was not present to give the legislative conference report.

Jackie Buboltz gave a presentation on Employee Orientation that was very informative.

The Workforce Center will be having a Job Fair September 9, 2004 at the Workforce Center. All are welcome to set up and you may have as many interviewers as needed. It will be held from 5 to 7. They will also be having a Workers Compensation seminar presented by Janna Williams on September 21, 22, 23 from 8-5 at the DL Tech. They will be sending out information on both items.

Natasha gave a brief overview of the speaker we will have at our November meeting. It will be presented by Jane L. Pettinger, SPHR, she is currently working as an independent Human Resource Consultant. The topic will be Compensation Plans as they relate to the HR field. Natasha will send out an e-mail to find out areas of interest. She will check out the possibility of opening this to a four hour session.

We will be putting out a new survey to find areas and topics of interest for future meetings.

Mike Haapala will be the September speaker presenting termination tips.
