Lake Country Human Resource Association Board Meeting Minutes
December 16, 2004
Present:
Caroline Simon
Sharlo Meyer
Natasha Bretz
Teresa Johnson
Minutes of the October 21, 2004 board meeting were reviewed.
We will have a year end audit conducted the end of our fiscal year in June.
The programming for the next two chapter meetings was reviewed. Topics will be:
January 13, 2004 Ethics of Workplace Investigation by Johns Mack(Cancelled due to weather)
March 10, 2005 General discussion group
We will discuss ice breakers at our next Board meeting for the general meetings to kind of loosen up the crowd a bit and to get to know each other better. It was an idea that we each bring an HR scenario for discussion. It would be a great learning tool for the group.
Goals for the 2005 year were discussed:
1. Increased involvement from members
2. Networking between other HR Professionals
3. Continually survey member interest
Tasha will be looking into the possibility of a speaker the May meeting.
Mike was looking into getting plaques for the members who have received their PHR certification. SHRM does not supply these. It was decided the LCHRA would provide frames to the newly certified members.
The budget will be based on a fiscal year 7-1-05 through 6-31-06.
Nominations for President-Elect and one At-Large member will need to be taken at the March meeting. The President-Elect is a three year term and the At-Large is a 2 year term.
It has been decided that the organization will be sending two members to the Leadership Conference every year. They are the President and the President-Elect.
Old Business Reminders
We will be starting a few of new things in 2005; one is to prepare an annual budget and another is to prepare an annual financial statement and a treasures report will be given at each meeting.
A clarification for all members; our official year runs from July 1 through June 30, dues also run with this schedule regardless of the date you join the group.
The next meeting will be on February 10, 2005, 8-9 a.m., Sunflower Hill Coffee Shop in the Detroit Lakes Washington Square Mall.
