Lake Country Human Resource Association Board Meeting Minutes
February 10, 2005

Minutes of the December 16, 2004 board meeting were reviewed.

The programming for the next two chapter meetings was reviewed. Topics will be:

March Meeting: Alec Beck - lawyer topic: ADA/FMLA/WORK COMP

May Meeting: John Mack - lawyer topic: WORKPLACE INVESTIGATIONS

July Meeting: Group Discussion Icebreakers, 2 member spotlight, miscellaneous scenario discussion

As you will see for the July meeting we have decided to initiate a new format for our meetings. Our goals are to have a little more discussion amongst the group. We will open with an icebreaker; we will then have a spotlight on a couple of members who will be chosen randomly by the President. He/She will send you an e-mail notification and will explain at that time what it is all about. This will hopefully give us all a chance to get to know each other a little more. We are also going to start a scenario situation where a couple of us will bring in a scenario situation for W/C, or FMLA or terminations or something on this order. We will put this up for discussion and hopefully learn something from it.

Teresa will pick up frames for the newly certified PHR and SPHR recipients and they will be available at the March meeting.

Natasha will check on the possibility of sending a third person the “Leadership Conference” free of charge if we pay for the first two.

It is up for discussion of the rental of a PO Box on weather to keep on or not. Caroline will check on the legalities with SHRM to see if it is necessary.

The next two speakers are approved for PHR CEU’s.

Nominations for President-Elect and one At-Large member will need to be taken at the March meeting. The President-Elect is a three year term and the At-Large is a 2 year term

The next meeting will be on April 14, 2005 8-9 a.m., Sunflower Hill Coffee Shop in the Detroit Lakes Washington Square Mall.
