Lake Country Human Resource Association Board Meeting Minutes August 11, 2005

Minutes of the June 10, 2005 board meeting was reviewed.

Natasha brought up the possibility of reviewing the by-law for the group to make sure they are up to date. This will be done at a later date.

Natasha also did a review of SHRM and pointed out the benefits of the foundation and how we fit into it. Just for a review LCHRA was founded at the end of 2001 and the beginning of 2002. We became affiliated with SHRM in 2003. The benefits that SHRM can provide to you as an HR professional are great and we encourage you, if you have not done so to consider membership in SHRM. For your information if ever you need we are in the North Central Region and our number is 661.

Our September meeting topic will be HSA’s and HDHP’s. Natasha Nodsle will be presenting information on Health Savings Accounts and High Deductible Health Plans. We will put in for CEU credit and will see what we get back on this.

Our November meeting will be on Unemployment Hearings and the presentation will be given by Mark Schwartz, he is an unemployment judge.

Natasha will put in a request for a speaker from SHRM on HR competencies and hopefully we will have presentation on this in the next few months.

Caroline will seek out the possibility of a speaker on performance appraisals.

When Teresa gets the roster complete and updated we will post this on the website.

The July meeting held at the Holiday Inn seemed to be a success.

The next meeting will be on October 13, 2005 8:30-9:30 a.m., Sunflower Hill Coffee Shop in the Detroit Lakes Washington Square Mall.
