Minutes of the February 2006 board meeting was reviewed.

A discussion was held on the adopting a code of ethics. Natasha will talk to Joe at Arvig and have him put a tab on the LCHRA web page for the SHRM code of ethics.

Our May meeting speaker will be Ann Byrnes, SPHR Regional Manager, North Central Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM )She will be sharing ideas on “The Future of Human Resource Management”.

Reminde;r that elections will also be held on May 11, 2006. Positions up for re-election will be the following: President Elect, Kelli Carlson-Sec./Tre. Theresa Halvosrson-Member-at-large, Jill Berg and Cheryl Buck. If anyone else is interested please contact one of the board members.

Evaluation forms from the March speaker were reviewed, overall the results were favorable.

June board meeting will be the passing of the offices. The new members will take over at this time and the old ones will move on.

A decision has been made to change our by-laws to read that if a LCHRA member participates in a LCHRA sponsored SHRM Certification study group that upon passing the PHR/SPHR test, they need to forward a copy of their certification to the chapter President.
The reason why we made this change is that LCHRA recognizes these members via a letter to them and their boss, a press release to the newspaper, announcement during a chapter meeting, and a small gift.

Sharlo will be the new president this next year; she reviewed the programming for the year. She is looking for suggestions from anyone for topics of interest.

The July Meeting will consist of retention and recruitment.

The next meeting will be on June 8, 2006 8:30-9:30 a.m., Sunflower Hill Coffee Shop in the Detroit Lakes Washington Square Mall.
