Lakes County Human Resource Association Board Meeting Minutes October 19, 2006

Minutes of the August 14, 2006 board meeting were reviewed and approved.

The group discussed the Fifth Anniversary Luncheon to be held at the Perham Country Club on November 9th. Clocks will be ordered for the 3 founding members: Lori Meader, Jackie Buboltz, and Nancy Olson. Plaques will be given to the 4 past presidents: Caroline Simon, Nancy Olson, Natasha Nodsle, and Lori Bakken. The theme for the program will be “Past, Present, Future”, with different members presenting. Lunch will be provided with a total estimated cost of $250. The group discussed gifts for members commemorating the 5th anniversary.

A discussion was held regarding the LCHRA Compensation/Benefit survey distribution. A registration desk will be set up at the 5th Anniversary luncheon to distribute the completed survey to members that participated. The survey cost is $25 if a company did participate and $50 if a company did not participate.

The group reviewed the program interest survey form. Questions were revised. The survey will be distributed at the November 9, 2006 luncheon for completion by members. Results will be reviewed by the board in December.

Programming for the upcoming year was reviewed. The January meeting topic will be Drugs & Alcohol in the Workplace presented by Lakeland Mental Health. Possible topics for the March meeting include Workplace Disputes presented by Page Law Firm. The group discussed the value of roundtable discussions and incorporating them in the upcoming meetings.

The next board meeting is scheduled for December 14, 2006 from 8:30-9:30 a.m., Sunflower Hill Coffee Shop in the Detroit Lakes Washington Square Mall.
