Lakes County Human Resource Association Board Meeting Minutes December 14, 2006

Minutes of the October 19 board meeting were reviewed and approved.

The group reviewed the November 5th Anniversary celebration held in Perham. Twenty-four members were in attendance on November 9th. The celebration was well received.

The group reviewed the results of the programming survey distributed during the November meeting. The categories receiving the highest interest for the upcoming year include; employee retention, performance appraisal systems, succession planning, compensation plans, employee benefits, incentive programs, employment law, generational awareness, hiring assessment tools, developing interview questions, recruitment, ADA, FLSA, and Wellness programs.

Programming for the upcoming year was reviewed. The January meeting topic will be Drugs & Alcohol in the Workplace presented by Stacy Pauer from The Village Family Service Center. A spotlight of new members will also be done during the January meeting. Possible topics for the March meeting include “Building a Recognition Culture” presented by Terry Berry out of Michigan. Page Law Firm will do a presentation on Workplace Disputes in May. A roundtable discussion on Wellness possibly led by a speaker in July was discussed.

The next board meeting is scheduled for February 8, 2007 from 8:30-9:30 a.m., Sunflower Hill Coffee Shop in the Detroit Lakes Washington Square Mall.
