Board Meeting Minutes April 13, 2007

The board appointed Jackie Buboltz to the position of President Elect effective immediately due to the resignation of Kellie Weller.
Minutes of the February 8, 2007 board meeting were reviewed and approved.
SHRM presented our chapter with a Merit Award for 2006.
Programming for the upcoming months was reviewed. The May topic is “Workplace Disputes” to be presented by a law firm. SHRM has approved 1.25 CEU credits for this meeting. The July topic is “Building a Recognition Culture” presented by Terry Berry. The topic for September will be Wellness, speakers are being contacted.
Board members have received several notifications for possible meeting topics from outside sources that are free of charge. The group discussed topics and the possibility of continuing further bookings for 2007 and 2008. Possible topics include, SHRM speaker, 2nd half of performance appraisal seminar, Jeff Johnson, Attorney, and game with trivia questions related to HR profession.
The group reviewed board position openings for the 2007-2008 year. President Elect and Board Member at Large will be open. Sharlo has sent out reminders to members about upcoming elections, so far no nominations have been received. The group discussed contacting individuals to run for the open positions.
Jackie B. and another board member will attend the MN Leadership Conference on May 20 & 21.
The group discussed attendance by board members at SHRM State Council Meetings. Since attendance benefits the chapter, it is in the best interest of the chapter to pay for the cost of attending the meetings. Motion made by Sharlo for LCHRA to pay the cost for the President of the board to attend the SHRM State Council Meetings, seconded by Natasha, approved by the board.
The next board meeting is scheduled for June 14, 2007 from 8:30-9:30 a.m., Sunflower Hill Coffee Shop in the Detroit Lakes Washington Square Mall.
