Board Meeting Minutes December 12, 2007

Minutes from the October meeting were not available.

Group discussed the Minnesota State SHRM conference held in St. Cloud. Six LCHRA members attended the conference. The “fishing theme” basket that was donated by LCHRA brought in $110. Teresa J. attended the state council meeting that was held during the state conference and updated the group on some topics discussed. Teleconference options were suggested for future state council meetings due to the travel time required for some members.

The group reviewed and discussed the financial statement.

Group discussed links that are currently displayed on the LCHRA website, types of links to provide, and the possibility of adding more. Jackie will research other local chapters and follow up with the group.

Suggestions for increasing chapter membership was discussed. Group decided to encourage current members to bring a guest to the January and/or March regularly scheduled meetings. Every member who brings in a guest will be eligible for a prize to be drawn after the March meeting.

Programming for upcoming months was reviewed. The January topic will be a roundtable discussion on performance appraisals. Members are encouraged to bring samples to the meeting for review and discussion. For March, the topic is safety with a focus on return to work. Roger Cullen has recommended Scott Huberty from Meadowbrook Insurance, the loss control company currently working with Innova Industries. A SHRM speaker will be invited for May.

The next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 14, 8:30-9:30 am, Sunflower Hill Coffee Shop in the Detroit Lakes Washington Square Mall.
