Board Meeting Minutes June 12, 2008

Minutes of the April board meeting were reviewed and approved.

The group reviewed and approved the financial statement through May.

The group welcomed the newest member of the board, Roger Cullen who will replace Cheryl Buck as Member at Large. Cheryl Buck was also thanked for the time she has served on the board.

Programming for upcoming months was discussed. The July meeting will consist of a round table discussion on the topic of corporate responsibility. Jackie will reserve a table on the deck at Speak Easy in Detroit Lakes and send information to all members. The September meeting will include a speaker, Mike Harrison from Endurance America who will talk about building a culture to accept change. The session will last from 8:30 – 11:30 am and the only cost to the group is mileage and hotel. Possible topics for future months include diversity, legislative updates with an HR focus, and a topic of interest from a law firm.

Jackie Buboltz reviewed the CAPS report. LCHRA received an honorable mention from SHRM for 2007.

Future board meeting options were discussed. Due to rising fuel costs and physical locations of board members, ideas were raised for meetings such as teleconferencing, rotating locations, or combining the board meeting with the regular chapter meeting. The new board will discuss at next meeting.

Roger Cullen was assigned the duty of providing legislative updates at the meetings and Missy Wokash will continue to provide diversity updates at the meetings.

The next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 14th at 8:30 - 9:30 am Sunflower Hill Coffee Shop in the Detroit Lakes Washington Square Mall.
