Board Meeting Minutes April 9, 2009

Present:
Teresa Johnson - President
Theresa Halvorson - President Elect
Lori Bakken - Secretary/Treasurer
Roger Cullen - Member at Large - Legislative
Jackie Buboltz - Past President

Absent:
Missy Wokasch – Member at Large - Diversity

Minutes of the February board meeting were reviewed and approved.

The financial statement for February 13th – April 9th was reviewed and approved.

An election for new board members will be held in May. Positions available include President Elect and Member at Large – Diversity. Kellie Weller has expressed interest in the President Elect position and Carol Pacquin has been nominated for the At Large position. Another member has inquired about the At Large position.

Upcoming programming was discussed:
May – Employment Law (FMLA, ADA, COBRA) will be presented by Lisa Edison-Smith
June – Team Taiwan by Tasha Nodsle
July – There will be a meeting at 5:00 p.m. at the Speak Easy on the 9th. Mark Merdock, the state representative for 10A will be the speaker Regional SHRM representative
Charlie Lindberg from The Village is also a resource for speakers.

Other topics of discussion:

• Educational Conference for education and to raise funds (spring) and as a way to increase membership.
• Rotating location of meetings will be included on the May ballot
• Roger will purchase a computer for LCHRA board
• LCHRA salary survey
• ND State SHRM conference will be held in Fargo this year

The next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 14th at 7:45 a.m.
